We support the development of Artificial Reef Systems capable of allowing coral propagation and fish breeding.
This is not just to reduce the numbers taken from the wild in the short term, but also provide a potential haven for an ever increasing number of species threatened by global environmental changes. Changes that may eventually destroy our natural coral reefs.

New Aquarium Build Gallery

The New Aquarium was built over a few months. It measures 7' by 2' by 2'.

Circulation is provided mainly via closed pumping loops (water taken out the tank one end put back the other end). Three pumps are used, each favoring one of three interconnected water inputs and a selection of outflows. In the case of blockage each pump can suck from the next available input, thus preventing damage to the pump or any item blocking the input site. Further water flow is provided by the sump return pump.

The rockwork is shown in it's original configuration, although this worked well with many inbuilt caves, we have since reworked it using a simple but effective construction method. Hopefully I will have an article on this system soon.
